Stablecoin cards and payouts in 40 currencies

Bitcoin trades near $82,000, having bounced well from $79,800, as Mastercard and BVNK announced the launch of Mastercard Global Money Platform, which combines Mastercard's international payment capabilities with BVNK's stablecoin infrastructure via a single API. This is the first major integration of the two companies since Mastercard acquired BVNK in August 2026, and it shows why the payment giant bought stablecoin infrastructure: not for a standalone product, but to embed digital dollars into an already working network.

As the company's release states, the platform gives banks, fintechs, and enterprises a modular toolkit they can embed into their own white-label products. It includes multi-currency accounts where fiat and stablecoins sit side by side, instant conversion between them, cards linked to stablecoins, and payouts to local bank accounts via Mastercard Move. Clients can enable only the functions they need and add new ones as they go, so they will not have to integrate multiple separate providers at every stage of money movement.

A practical use case in the press release illustrates a manufacturer that receives payments in several currencies and pays suppliers worldwide. Today such a company must hold separate accounts, work with different vendors, and tie up working capital in prepaid balances across markets. The new platform allows liquidity management, transfers between fiat and stablecoins, and inbound and outbound payments in one place. Through Mastercard Move—which reaches more than 17 billion endpoints—users will be able to pay out stablecoins in local currency directly to recipients' bank accounts, with coverage expected to expand to more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries and territories by 2027. Stablecoins will also be spendable at Mastercard's merchant acceptance network in hundreds of millions of points of sale, and cards will be available for issuance in more than 130 countries.

Stablecoin issuers also benefit because their tokens gain a ready spending channel. The platform plans also include support for agency commerce and other regulated forms of money, including tokenized deposits—what Mastercard executives call a multi-money strategy.

For the market this event is more structural than price moving. On the eve of the launch, Standard Chartered downgraded its stablecoin market forecast, pushing a $2 trillion milestone out to 2030 on the back of a plateau around $309 billion, and noted that growth today comes from transaction frequency rather than new issuance. Mastercard's launch addresses that challenge: the more spending scenarios there are, the more often coins change hands.

A clear hold above $2,508 would open a direct path to $2,600. The furthest upside target is the high near $2,679; breaking that level would indicate strengthening bullish sentiment and a return of buyer interest. On the downside, buyers are expected at $2,417. A return below that area could quickly push ETH toward $2,339. The most distant downside target would be around $2,274.

What we see on the chart:

- Red lines indicate support and resistance levels where either a price slowdown or active growth is expected;

- Green lines indicate the 50-day moving average;

- Blue lines indicate the 100-day moving average;

- Light green lines indicate the 200-day moving average.

A crossover, or a price test of moving averages, typically either halts the move or sparks fresh market momentum.
